BSC transaction statistics

Average number of BNB transactions per day decreased by 7%

The total number of BSC transactions in July was 114 771 348. The number of BSC transactions in June was 119 452 515. Compared to June, the average number of transactions per day decreased by 7%. The below chart indicates that since March 2022, there has been a steady decline in the average number of transactions completed per day on the Binance Smart Chain.

On July 16th, 4 716 234 transactions were completed. It is the highest number of transactions completed per day in July on the Binance Smart Chain. On the other days in July, the total number of transactions didn’t exceed 4.2 million. The second highest number of 4 116 933 transactions was confirmed on the 1st of July.

BSC block statistics

Average number of BSC blocks per day remained almost unchanged

The BSC Average Number of Blocks Per Day chart shows a slight increase of 0.24% in the average number of blocks per day on the Binance Smart Chain in July. The average number of BSC blocks per day in June was 28 661, and the average number of BSC blocks in July was 28 729.

The total size of blocks mined per day has been steadily decreasing since March 2022. In March, the average size of all blocks validated in one day on the Binance Smart Chain went from just under 1.5 Gb in March to just over 1Gb in June and further reduced to 0.99 Gb in July.

Similar trend is shown on the BSC Total Block Size Per Month, Gb chart. It can be seen that the total size of blocks mined per month in the Binance Smart Chain in July 2022 was 30.63 Gb, 32% less than in March 2022.

BSC gas prices statistics

Average BSC gas price increased by 2.83%, compared to June. Current BSC gas price (31 July) 6.9 gwei.

The average BSC gas price remains almost the same and does not experience significant changes. The average gas price on the Binance Smart Chain in June was 6.7 gwei, in July it was 6.89 gwei. The price increased by 2.83%.

The highest gas price in July 2022 was on the 27th when it reached the average value of 7.97 gwei. It is 23% above the lowest gas price of 6.45 gwei on the 9th of July.

BSC new smart contracts statistics

The number of ERC-20 tokens created in the BSC network in July decreased sharply by 51.13%.

The number of ERC-20 tokens created on the BSC network in July was 30 560, In June this figure was 62 545. It decreased by 51.13%.

BSC active addresses statistics

In July, the total number of active wallets decreased by 32.21%, compared to June. The average number of daily active smart contract addresses remained at the same level.

AnalytEx engine distinguishes wallet addresses from smart contracts addresses, hence is able to track user activity in addition to overall activity on the chain.

In June, the average number of daily active addresses on the Binance Smart Chain was 927 086. In July, this number decreased to 905 405. It is an insignificant decrease of 2.33%.

There was a sharp decrease in the total number of unique active crypto wallets in the BSC blockchain in July 2022: in June there was 10 850 752 active crypto wallets, and in July this figure dropped by more than 32% to 7 354 819. The average number of unique active crypto wallets per day was 893 249 in June. In July this value decreased by 2.31% and was 871 973.

Data-driven conclusions

The overall activity on the Binance Smart Chain has been declining since March 2022 and remains respectively low. Several trends have shown a decrease in the number of completed transactions, in the deployment of new smart contracts and even in the average number of unique active crypto wallets. It can be clearly seen that less users were engaged and active on the network than in the past months. The number of active smart contracts created on the network has been on the decline as well.

Activity on the Binance Smart Chain wasn’t as high as on the Ethereum network in the past months. Perhaps, Ethereum popularity on a bear market can be explained by the fact that ETH is the most known altcoin and news related to the upcoming merge and transition to Proof-of-Stake (PoS) on the 15th of September, 2022 (based on the Ethereum blockchain research).

Trends indicate that the activity of the BSC network is decreasing, as well as the market as a whole, but only time will tell whether this can be the beginning of the end of the bearish cycle or not.
